Tul’ix Indigenous Arts

Tul'ix Indigenous Arts or Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® is a bodywork protocol rooted in the traditions of the late Don Elijio Panti, a Maya healer in Belize. The method includes abdominal massage to support the digestive and reproductive organs as well as assessments and massage therapies for the back body, which address multiple structural, functional, and psycho-emotional presentations.

While the bodywork protocol alone is an effective treatment, other modalities may be added to your session to expand upon or enhance your results. Spiritual healing, prayer, plants, the elements, and the dreaming, is fundamental to this offering of bodywork.

Closing of the Bones

Closing of the Bones is traditional wisdom and healing with origins being traced to almost every continent. This sacred ceremony is for being held whether postpartum, at a transition in your life, post-surgery, birth experience from years ago, trauma experienced or witnessed, or just a calling to receive.

Also called Spirit Canoe or the Seven Knots, the journey may involve connecting to divine energy, ancestors, and/or your body's innate wisdom.

The practice involves tea or cacao, intention setting and intake discussion (if wanted). The client is then wrapped snuggly in 7 shawls, like a chrysalis. Music, drumming, and/or singing bowls are played while you receive what is meant for you. Unwrapping may be a passive experience, or an active “breaking free” of your cocoon.
